We left Paros on a large car ferry bound for Santorini but the ferry's first stop was at the port of our dear friend, Naxos. The Blue Dolphin ferry in the photo is the high speed ferry, and is thus more expensive. We took the slower, cheaper ferry.
Deck 7 on the ferry.
The island of Ios, between Naxos and Santorini. On some ferry routes this would be the stop after Naxos but not today. We cruised right on by.
It was a gorgeous day to be on the water! Sunny but not too hot. The sea was calm. The water was blue, blue, blue. Such a beautiful and serene method of transportation. And then we spotted Santorini.
The north end of the island of Santorini.
That is one doozie of a zig-zaggy road. I wish that cruise ship wasn't in the way.
Tonight's sunset on Santorini wasn't a big WOW, but it was pretty. Here are a few photos taken in the town of Firostefani on Santorini.
After the sun had just set, the bells on this church started ringing.
This church below, different from the church in the photo above, is known for its three bells and is a popular post for sunset viewing.
After we finished our supper, complete with sunset viewing, we walked around just a little. It's a lot cooler here, and this is the first time I've had to wear my trench coat.
This was taken from our hotel room balcony.
It's a long way down to the water from here!
Our hotel room has two balconies, one on the west side so you can watch the sunset, and one on the east side so you can watch the sunrise. Tonight the moon is big, round, and orange.
