Day 15, East Side of Paros--The Views!

Thanks again to my head cold, we got a late start. Feeling a tad miserable I figured I could stay in bed, or I could ride in a car while Nick drives and I could see pretty sights. I chose the latter.
Here are are some of the sights we saw.

I almost felt at home here on the east side of Paros, with its stone fences looking so like New England.

This was the walkway I took (while Nick parked the car) to our lunch spot.

Lunch at Taverna Julia in Drios was relaxing and the views weren't too shabby either. I had grilled sardines which were so fresh and so delicious.  They taste NOTHING like canned sardines, which I don't really like.

The flowers are everywhere on Paros, and Antiparos! Hibiscus. Bougainvillea. Oleander. This stretch of oleander smelled so heavenly, like vanilla.

The steeples on this church are quite unusual.  They're almost like onion domes but yet not. Zoom in on the photo to see what I'm talking about.

We passed by this marble place and then circled back around to it because it looked so darn interesting. And it was so cool to see all the sculptures and stuff all made out of marble.

This marble table and bench (picnic table?) w8as easily 12 ft long. Can you imagine how much it must weigh?

We stopped at a produce shop to pick up some fruits and tomatoes. I noticed these on a shelf off to the side, and they intrigued me, especially the rose petal in syrup. I did not buy any because I have no room in my suitcase now.

Tonight's sunset from.our apartment's balcony.

Day 28, Reflections on Greece

We left Crete today, ending our four weeks in Greece trip. Some thoughts off the top of my head.  Weather I think we timed our visit pretty ...
